Meet the Teacher
Natalie Thomas
My name is Natalie Thomas, and this is my fourth year at Germantown High School. I have been teaching high school English for the past 15 years and have spent most of that time teaching freshman English! It is my honor to start this leg of my students' academic journey alongside them, and I cannot wait to see all my new students grow and improve during the coming school year!
I am a 2004 graduate of Freed Hardeman University where I studied English and secondary education. I started taking graduate courses to specialize in special education and then took a break from being a student to become a mommy! My sweet little ones are pictured with me above (along with my husband and high school sweetheart, Joseph), and they are all pretty amazing! After our daughter was born, we felt like our family was complete, so I re-entered the classroom as a student and earned a Master's of Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in adolescent literacy. When Covid-19 hit, I had to work hard to find any glimmer of a silver lining, but I am thankful for the time this experience has afforded me to become a more digitally fluent educator over the course of the past six months.
I can't wait to take what I have learned over the past decade and a half and apply it to making this an awesome year for my new students!
